What Is The Prognosis Of Whipple S Disease With Elevated CA19-9 Levels?

My CA19-9 have been progressing, after a Whipple, from about 397 to about 1043. I am also diabetic and taking Glipizide XL and generic Actos with resulting glucose levels of 100-140 or so. I start daily pencil beam proton therapy next Tue after Memorial Day with two 1500 mg of generic Xeloda daily. What are my chances of living 6 mos, 12 mos, 36 mos?

Hi and welcome to HCM.
Well, if Whipple was not curative resection for pancreatic cancer then the prognosis is poor and elevated CA 19-9 may indicated that there is still cancer in body. In this case,12months survival is around 50% and 3 years survival 5%. But it cant be exacrtly calculated since this all is individual.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
