What Is The Prognosis For Lung Cancer?

my husband has stage 4 adenocarcinoma non small cell. He had his left lung removed 3 years ago. Came back in bone left hip a year ago. Next, 2 tumors to the head. Used tomography and are currently not active. Then a few spots to the right lung. Then new treatment of chemo pill daily and a infusion every 21 days. Great for six months. Currently, coughing and right back side in lung area hurting terribly in right lung area. If this is back and active, how long does his life expectancy seem to be. Please be straight with me. I know the what ifs, miracles, etc.

Hi

Your husband is suffering from stage 4 lung cancer.

I would advise him to do a PET scan to see the extent of his disease spreading.

Average survival time is 3 to 6 months.

Regards

DR De
