What Is The Prognosis For An Unborn Child With Ventriculomegaly?

I am 34 weeks pregnant now, my ob told me that I need to undergo CS when I turn 36/37 weeks. My ultrasound reports have said that my baby boy has a ventriculomegaly and absence of vermis in the brain. Can I refuse to my ob and tell her I want to have a normal delivery instead inspite of the baby s condition? Because I ve talked to some moms that had the same case and they told me that if the baby s head circumference are fine and normal I can go have a normal delivery. Thank you so much.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
Ventriculomegaly alone is not an indication for Caeserian section. However delivery should be in well equipped hospital with icu care, neonatal neurosurgeon and neurologist should be there as the neonate may need intensive care and early intervention.
The prognosis of neonate depends Upon degree of ventriculomegaly and associated abnormalities.
Hope it helps best.
