What is the pharmacological name of Betnesol 12 mg? I was prescribed to take 2 injections during my 36th week of pregnancy. Most of the theory suggests that it is widely being used for skin related diseases. is it relevant to use this injection during pregnancy? ??

It contains Betamethasone, a steroid which is given to pregnant females with preterm delivery chances for surfactant formation. Surfactant is compulsory for lung maturation. Its deficiency causes ARDS.
