What Is The Permanent Solution Got Recurring Chalazions?

Hello Dr. Moser.

My name is Mike, I am28 years old and I keep having these reoccurring chalazions. The first was at around 22-23 years old in my right eye. After more than a year of treatment with no results, I had it removed surgically. After one and a half years, at around 24-25, I had one forming in my left eye which turned out to be two actually, after about 2 -3 months of growing. So, after another 1 + years of treatment( eye drops, antibiotics, ointment) I had them surgically removed again. Now, after 2 and a half years from my last incident in the left eye, I have a swollen upper left eyelid, pain that seems to be mostly in the center of the eyelid but also diffuses more or less to the upper part and the corner of the eye, I have blurry vision in the left eye often enough to have me concerned. I tried hot compress with Epson salt. When palpating, there is a small lump under. So I am thinking if there is another way of stopping this thing before it is fully grown and would like to avoid surgery as I was left with some scars that causes my eye sometimes to be sore.
Thank you.

You have chalazion in both eye frequently. They are non inflammatory obs trucktion of mebo mian gland. These gland create oily substances which lubricate cornea.Surgery is the only treatment for it. But as you have mentioned that it leaves a scar ,is not correct. It is done from reverse side of conjunctiva. By keeping lid mar gin clean you may avoid it.
