Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. I just read through your question. Congratulations on your new baby. The average newborn will sleep approximately 18 hours per 24 hour period. It is not unusual in the first days of life for a baby to sleep like this between feeds. The sleep pattern your baby is displaying is normal. You do not need to worry.
