What Is The Next Stage Of Treatment For Stage IV Ewing Sarcoma Patient After Chemo?

My wife has stage IV Ewing Sarcoma...been thru 11 chemo cycles and 28 radiation treatments...recently had her lung drained re: fluids/blood clots and also found new tumors...she's currently on I/E and VAC protocol...but that is obviously not working...what's next for her?

Oncologist 's  Response
Hi. I am very sorry for your wife. She has a progressive disease on VAC /IE chemotherapy. If she has a good performance status she needs to undergo second line chemotherapy for refractory disease.
Chemotherapy protocol options are:
1. Cyclophosphamide and topotecan
2. Irinotecan and temozolomide
3. Docetaxel and Gemcitabine
You can discuss it with your oncologist. I hope I have answered your question. I will be more than happy to answer any further question. Wishing you all the best and thankyou for choosing Healthcare Magic.
