hi, i have strep throat type C and i was told antibiotics wont help me and that it will get better on its own. i have white/gray/greenish patches on my tonils and i noticed today there is a pinkish flesh looking growth on one of them, im not sure if i should go back to the doctors or if it will go away? my condition does not seem to be better. i dont know if they will need to be removed? please help.
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. Noted your history of being diagnosed as Strep throat-C. You have colorful patches on the tonsils and now have developed the red mass like thing indicate that your should have been started on antibiotics after the swam from the colorful area taken for gram staining, culture and sensitivity. Continue the antibiotics with low dose metronidazole to tackle the anerobic part of the infection which can occur even in the oral cavity.
If you take the proper treatment till it is cured you may not need any surgery to remove the tonsils.
