What Is The Medication For Cough?

I have a 3 year old son. He would cough for as long as 2 weeks or more. Every morning at around 10 AM he would start to cough, about 5 times for 30 minutes and it would stop. Or, every afternoon around 5 PM. However, there are days when there is no cough through out the day at all.

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. First I want to alley your fears regarding your kid -
1. It could be either multi triggered wheeze or episodic viral wheeze.
2. If it is first time, no harm in using asthalin as it gives good relief.
3. Asthalin or any of the medications used for wheezing in any route either oral or inhalational do not cause dependency or make the patient prone for asthma.
4. Is he loosing weight or having daily fever or anybody with whom he is in contact with is having TB or being treated for TB. Kindly get back with the above information.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
