What Is The Meaning Of Faint White Matter Signal Alterations In Frontal Lobe?
Just received MRI result.Only findings were 2 EXTREMELYFAINT,less than 1cm white matter signal alterations seen in left centrum semiovale of the frontal lobe.I'm 55 year old male with history of sinus infections. Is there anything to me of concern here.
The extremely faint white matter alterations might be degenerative changes due to decreased blood supply in those areas. The description is not clear enough to confirm the condition and I am sure that if it were serious enough, it would have been mentioned in your report. These areas of degeneration less than 1 cm are sometimes classified as lacunar infarcts. It is important to know if you have any other health risk conditions like diabetes or hypertension. Sinus infection is not connected to your MRI scan brain findings.
