What Is The Lump In My Left Breast?

i was told i had a golf ball size lump in my left breast and was sent for a mammogram, when i got the mammogram done i waited to see the radiologist then was told i needed a ultra sound because when they checked my right breast they saw a spot and they now needed to compare everything because i felt the lump in the left breast but nothing in the right. So after the testing were done the ultrasound tech went to the radiologist so he can view and within a minute the ultrasound tech came back in said its just breast tissue and at the age of 40 you need to do mammograms every year. I'm 33 now and i experienced sever pain in my left breast thats why i went to the doctor but i had no clue there was anything in my right breast should i seek another opinion

It is quite common to have pain in the breast at your age without harbouring underlying cancer. However, any lump that is palpable to the patient or the doctor needs to be investigated further. So, if you have a palpable left breast lump and the mammogram and USG are normal, then you need to get a needle test (called FNAC) from the lump. That will confirm whether there is any thing of concern or not. If you cant feel the left breast lump, then there is nothing to worry about. As to the right breast, I dont think there is anything to worry about since you dont feel anything and the mammo and USG are normal.
