What Is The Life Expectancy Of Someone With Liver Cirrhosis And Umbilical Hernia?
One year ago my 59 year old pack a day smoking, 20 beers a day brother was diagnosed with cirrhosis. Bili 80, GGT 1000 (one thousand). Esauphagial variciese present but not bad enough to tie off. B.P. 180/120. Ascites present. Herniated umbilical. No alb or INR result at that time. Now down to 10 beers a day, still smoking pack a day. On diuretics, & B.P meds. Bili 20, alb 40, INR 2.0, GGT 700. AFP 10.

Umbilical hernia doesn't affect lifetime but cirrhosis is serious disease and in this stage,it may befrom fee months till year or two. Liver transplant would be the only option for cure in his case.
