What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Person With Severe Cerebellum Stroke?
My spouse had a severe stroke with hematoma in the cerebellum . After 6 h of operation he woke the next day and was moving his arms , legs on comment and spoke . He went into cardiac arrest the same night and was hypoxia 5 min to revive . He later had 2 mayor seizure and put into an artificial coma with propofol to get seizing under control . He was on 5 different seizure medications . Doctors said that he s severely brain damaged and we should consider turning off life support . We are giving him more time , went with tube feeding and tracheostomy . He woke up from coma agree 6 weeks and opened his eyes . One eye more open and he recognized us and moved his eye when his name is called . We talk and comfort him . He s 50 years old . His body is soft and no movement . What can we expect , now that the nurses confirmed that he s not in a vegetative state . Thank you
