My best friend had a stroke in the thalamus section of the brain. she was in a deep sleep state for 3-4 days and is now awake. She has no loss of motion in limbs, was cognizent of those of us around her, responded accurately to request, all around evidence that although asleep, she was there . She is now awake tho groggy like and has a small problem with talking. Her words come out fine but weak. She can eat but with help because her eyesight seems to be affected. Dilated. She has been moved out of Nuero icu and down to a regular med ward. she progresses everyday but not fast enough for those who love her. What are her chances a a recovery to herself with some slight disabilities?
