I know someone who has a family history of renal failure. He is left with one Kidney, My question is what is the life expectancy of a male with one kidney?

Life expectancy does not vary much (roughly -5 years), if a person learns to lead a controlled life.

People usually sustain well, provided they do not have other co morbid conditions like hypertension, diabetes etc.

However if family risk factors are present then there is a risk of other kidney also getting affected.
