Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I will keep a possibility of Intertrigo with secondary bacterial infection being the cause of yellowish sticky discharge. If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on a course of an Oral antibiotics for a week. My choice of an Oral antibiotics would have been either flucloxacillin Or cephalexin. Once the infection i.e discharge resolves in about a week, it would be appropriate to add a topical combination cream of an antifungal and a mild steroid (e.g clotriamzole and beclomethasone combination cream), twice daily for 2-4 weeks. An Oral antifungal e.g fluconazole would also be advisable because oral antifungals are faster acting and therefore would improve the condition better in combination with topical creams. Oral antifungals are prescription drugs therefore I suggest you to talk with your doctor. An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
