Electrocardiogram is the full name of the device and the also the name of the trace it produces. However in deference to the inventor of the first practical (but not the only) device,the German Willem Einthoven, it is known as EKG or electokardiogram in many countries.

I had a ECG and the result show abnormal. What does the following mean? Borderline low voltage, extremity leads...all extremity leads Sinus rhythm..normal P axis,V-rate 50-99 Anteroseptal infrarct, old..Q 40ms,V1-V2 I have not had any pain. My BP average at 109/67 but I do have high cholesterol.
