Hi,
I understand your query & concern.
Yes, like general people, exercise is a must in asthmatic patient also,to maintain health, but it's type & severity should be parallel to-
- Severity of disease, physical capasity of patient.
* To start with it's essential to know about stage disease process . consultation of
allergy specialist, chest physician for guidance of management is a must
* healthy lifestyle adjustments-
eating nutritious food ,you are not allergic to.
Avoid external allergens.
follow preventive medicines & avoid active infection is basis for leading normal life with asthma.
* Exercises-
- Pranayam ( respiratory exercise), along with
yoga for strengthening chest muscles,
Meditation & mind concentration & positive thinking to manage mental
stress is a must.
Routine physical exercises of stretching,turning,bending / Suryanamaskaras according to patient's capacity, a walk for 1/2 hour with medium speed are minimum exercises an asthmatic should take over.
Do everything slowly ,but in prescribed numbers. Avoid exercises while have severe attack.
* Yes, while severe breathing trouble there is lot of physical/mental stress, this is bound to cause caloric loss. But this loss causes muscle wasting & weakness-as against exercise caloric loss which offers muscle/body stamina & strength.
So it is important to remain symptom free & be strong with exercises.
Thanks.
Thanks.
