What Is The Effect Of Ovarian Cyst On Fetal Growth During Pregnancy?

AGE:29, HEIGHT: 5'4'', WEIGHT: 50 KG. A BABY OF 5 YEARS born through normal delivery. i am 5 th week pregnant , scan report showed that there is a para ovarian cyst of about 37*22 mm on the right side of the left ovary.. Pls explain what's the trouble and effect on fetus growth.

There is no need to panic.
You have a small epithelial cyst beside the ovary. This cyst has no adverse effect on fetal growth.
A cyst of such small size is unlikely to cause any problems during pregnancy.

Very Occasionsally they may increase in size and cause pain. So it is a good practice for your doctor to monitor its size once in three months.
Repeat ultrasound 2 months after the delivery. If it is still of the same size needs follow up ultrasounds once in 6 months.
