What Is The Dosage Of The Medication?

Hi. I have a question about metoprolol. I have been taking metoprolol 100 mg er and I asked my doctor to put me on a lower cost. she put me on metoptolol 100 mg tartrate twice a day. I take the er once a day. I guess my question is is the difference in the mg for once a day to twice a day ok? The reason I started taking this was because my heart beat went to a 120 beats.

Hi,

The difference between these two medication is that Metoprolol ER acts 24 hours and Metoprolol tartrate acts 12 hours, so the first one is given once a day and the second one is given twice daily

Hope this helps

Wishing you good health
