What Is The Dosage Of Aleve For Migraine?

I am a new person, age 79, with migraines just starting a month ago. I feel like Aleve helps with my migraines. I took 2 at about 8:30 am and they wore off big time at 4pm. Is it safe to take 2 more now? I don have migraines at night but otherwise as soon as I get up, it starts. Thank you! I´ve seen 2 doctors, an MD and a neurologist so far. Imitrex makes it worse and so does Maxalt. Amitriptyline gives me nightmare, makes me sleep well but no help with migraines other than deep sleep. Thank you, Sharon Hoffman

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Usual dose of Aleve (Naproxene) twice a day. You can take up to four tablets per day but more than that is not recommended. You can take Triptans and Flunarizine for preventing a migraine attack.
Avoid sleep deprivation and straining as they can provoke a migraine attack.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
