I have been having a hard time making it to the bathroom in time to pee. I need to go A lot during the day and usually 2 or three times at night. I have had a few accidents recently and have started to wear diapers on longer trips and to bed as I have wet the bed a few times . What should I do?
Hi, You have symptoms of what we term ' overactive bladder'. You need to have a few investigations before we can confirm the same. You should have an ultrasound of kidneys and bladder with an estimate of urine before and after voiding. A complete urine examination is also important. a uroflowmetry will indicate if your passage has any suggestion of obstruction. Hope you are not a diabetic. if these reports are as they should be, you can be started on medications like tolterodine which help reduce the frequency urgency syndrome to a great extent with acceptable side effects.
