What Is The Difference Between Meftal -p And Crocin Syrup?
hi i am mr vinod my child aged about 2 1/2 year old and he got fever form last three days its coming and going and iam MEFTAL-P syrup using regularly to day my doctor was suggested me to take CROCIN syrup then what is the difference between this two can you tell please what i do fever was still going on
Meftal-P (mefenemic acid) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug commonly prescribed to treat painful conditions such as arthritis, sprains of the joints or muscles and abdominal cramps.
Crocin (paracetamol) is commonly prescribed to treat fever and mild to moderate pain such as muscle ache, headache, toothache, arthritis, and backache.
Since meftal-p can cause vomiting and gastritis hence I advise you to continue using crocin which is the safest drug to reduce fever in young children.
However, if fever does not subside even after taking it, then meftal-p can be given (after the meals) alternatively along with crocin.
Along with the medicines, tepid sponging should be done to lower the raised body temperature and give him plenty of fluids to maintain hydration.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
