What Is The Difference Between MS Contin And Morphine?

Is there a difference between MS contin and Morphine. I have advanced breast cancer-Myelophstic as it has moved into my bones. It is everywhere. I take 100 mg of MS contin 2x daily with 10mg of oxycodone as needed for break through pain. Is that alot to take. My dr would like to increase it based on my last PET scan.

Hello,
MS Contin is a time release form of morphine. Your dose is very high. People in a lot of pain may require large doses of pain medications. Best to discuss doses with your doctor and get a second opinion if you think the dose is too high.
