What Is The Difference Between Imodium And Lomotil?
I have a j pouch and have found that taking Imodium isn t always effective in stopping diarrhea. My doctor told me to take lomotil. Pre Surgery I always used lomotil for as uc . I just want to know the difference in the way they chemically react in a person s body

No difference. May be quality of manufacturing process differ by both manufacturers.
But this medicine, if taken indiscriminately, may cause Intestinal paralysis also.
Herb Aegal marmelops or stone apple ( Called Bilva or Bael in Ayurveda) should be used instead if you need lomotil again n again. It's an absorbant and astringent.
