Dietitian & Nutritionist 's  Response
Good morning,
The main objective with coumadin therapy is to keep your intake of vitamin K containing foods CONSTANT rather than AVOIDING them. To assist you, I can give you a list of high vitamin K foods and you can identify what not to eat on a sporadic basis: Foods listed by vitamin K level - Kale(531 micrograms/serv), collards (frozen,ck labels of frozen casseroles), spinach (frozen), turnip greens, Brussel sproats, Broccoli, leaf lettuce, cabbage and asparagus (30 micrograms/serv) per the Academy Supplement Reference Manual,AND. I do hope this answers your query. If further information needed feel free to visit me directly. Regards, Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
