Of late, Dr. also sugested serum B12 and serum Folate test, in which serum B12 was lower than normal. What is the possible diagnosis of my mother. Please help.

Hello,

Diarrhea may be due to food Intolerance or gluten intolerance or Irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel problems et cetera.

Bacterial or amoebic infection may be able to cause diarrhea. B12deficincy may be due to diarrhoea or due to malabsorption or due to blind loop syndrome et cetera.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet Vitcofol once a day for two weeks and recheck blood B12 level, if not improved need intramuscular injection.

Please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
