What Is The Cure For Burning Sensation In Stomach?

I have been having a burning sensation in my stomach. very painful for the past week or so off and on. My concern is that I've taken too many pain relievers over the prior weeks for pain in my knee (bone spur). I just wonder if this IS the case, what can I do for relief of my stomach pain.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Burning sensation in stomach might be related to stomach hyperacidity or pain killers induced gastritis. Painkillers mainly NSAIDS group of drugs irritates stomach lining and may cause gastritis. I would advise you to take antiacidity medicine like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids for 4-5 days.

Avoid fried spicy and junk food. Have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, curd and dairy products. Take painkillers after taking meal, don't take it empty stomach.

Hope this answers your question, Please feel free to ask for follow up question. I will gladly answer you.

Wishing you good health!

Regards,
Dr. B R Hudda
