What Is The Cause Of Weight Gain When On Dexamethasone For Amyloidosis?

Hey~ I am a 50 year old woman with AL Amyloidosis and other health problems. I m also taking .05mg of dexamethasone. I have gained alot of weight lately. Since July I have gained 10 pounds and it just keeps on going Is the weight gain from the dex.?

I read your query, and i think that the extra 10 pounds you have gained could be because of the Dexamethasone. weight gain is a known side effect of the drug .
Also you mention that you have other health problems, It would be helpfull for me to rule out other possibilities if you be more specific.
Meanwhile i suggest you to get Routine blood investigations done and get back to be with reports.
Consider meeting your physician and asking him about the reduction in dosage of the drug or change of drug.
