What Is The Cause Of Restless Leg Syndrome?

I have an embolus in my neck . Was given heparin then Coumadin and just finish lovonox. I had a lot of pain in my neck and shoulder because of the clot...now I am having what feels like restless leg syndrome..only in my arm...it has occurred twice in the last two days. What is this and should I be concerned...can hardly sit still when it happens...

Dear User,
Thanks for using HCM.

Restless leg syndrome can occur due to variety of conditions including thyroid, anemia, renal causes to name a few. I have observed over years that electrolyte and trace elements (e.g Iron) are the most common causes for symptoms of restless leg syndrome.

In your case it could be simply anticoagulant medications and it is possible that it will be under control in short period of time. In case it remain persistent I will request you to see a doctor.

I hope this assists you.
Wish you great health ahead.
Regards.
