What Is The Cause Of Recurring Welts On The Body Of A 2 Year Old ?
Hi, my two year old grand-daughter has woke in the morning with welts all over her body, before my the daughter could get her to a doctor they would be gone. This has happened several times in the last three months, always after awakening from a nap or in the morning. This past week-end, she got them and they didn t go away, she awoke this morning and her eyes were almost swolen shut. Her doctor says food alergies, but she eats very little and not at all when his happens to her. Any ideas ?

Urticaria (Food) ., Allergy, and Mosquito bite.,
So follow this...,
1) Apply soothing lotion...CALAMINE..,daily morning after bath.,
2) Atarax syrup.....3 spoonful 3 times daily.,
3) Albendazole syrup....Half dose first time...after 1 week remaining half dose..,
to be give..,
4) Resrict the diet...avoid potatoes, sweet, sour items.,
if not respond consult Dermatologist and take opinion...thanQ

Hi welcome to HCM.You say your two year old daughter wakes up after a nap with wheals. Well it is due to allergy--besides food allergy--usually lactose from milk. But it could be due to mites that are present in bedclothes especially blankets and comfortors since it is happening every time after a nap. Do make sure that you air the bedclothes daily and vacuum the carpets and heavy curtains to get rid of mites. Regards
