What Is The Cause Of Recurring Dandruff In A Teen ?

Hi Im 19 years old and have suffered from light to mild dandruff for the last 2 years. But just recently I have developed very severe dandruff with large white patches on my scalp . Ive just cut my hair to less than 1/2 an inch an Despite how much I wash and shampoo or scratch the flakes away, they always reappear. Any advice?

Hi,

Dandruff is when the dead skin cells of your scalp are shed. Actually, shedding of dead cells is a normal phenomenon, but when the cells are shed in excess, then it is recognised as dandruff.

Have you changed you shampoo or hair cream recently, because an allergy to a new shampoo or hair cream may give rise to dandruff. Also, if you are in the habit of going from a cold to hot atmosphere (from an AC room to natural air) or vice versa, this can also contribute to dandruff. Stress also is known to trigger it.

Take constitutional treatment from homeopathy. It is the best in skin disorders and does not cause any side effects or suppression, and gives you permanent relief.

You could also in the meantime alternately apply curd and lemon juice to your hair half an hour before a shower.

All the best!
