What Is The Cause Of Numbness And Burning On The Right Thigh?

Hello, thanks for your time. I have an MRI lumber spine result stating. L5/S1 MILD DISC DEGENERATION WITH MINOR LOSS OF T2 SIGNAL. Can you explain what the loss of signal of T2 means please? I have varying degrees of numbness and burning needles in the top and side of my right thigh which has been there since some bulging discs three years ago and I get numb feet if I stand for a few minutes yet nothing showed the cause for this on the standard MRI, should I see a specialiast, a neaurologist? Thanks Joanne.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
Yes,there seems a nerve compression due to the slipped lumbar disc.

You should see neurologist and if necessary get the nerve de-compressed by surgical means.

Endoscopic spine surgery gives better results post-operatively as compared to conventional open surgery.

Thank you.
