What Is The Cause Of Missed Period With Negative Pregnancy Test With Hypothyroidism?
I am a 36 year old lady and I have not had my period for 3 months. I have done around 10 pregnancy tests and all negative. I have been under a tremendous amount of stress in the last year and wondering if this is a symptom of this. I eat healthy and take vitamins for hypothyroidism and over weight with a BMI of 35.1.

Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Hypothyroidism can lead to irregular periods. Along with it, obesity, which will also contribute to further hormonal variation causes irregular periods. 2. Pregnancy tests will be usually positive after the day of the missed period. 3. As your pregnancy test is negative, you are having irregular periods. 4. For correction, weight reduction, stress reduction, nutritional diet and correction of hypothyroidism is essential. Hypothyroidism needs to be corrected first, as it can contribute to over all increase BMI. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
