What Is The Cause Of Knee Pain After Injury?

During a small basketball game, I leaped as high as I could, and came down hard on my right leg. It felt like my knee was just messed up, but I kept playing the game for an hour or so. Once I took a seat, and then got back up it felt my knee couldn't straighten out properly without severe pain, I can barely walk or come down stairs. What am I dealing with?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely a meniscal injury.A physical examination with orthopedician will give clue for that and an X ray followed by an MRI will be needed to confirm it.If it is that immobilization of knee for 1 to 2 weeks followed by physiotherapy might be helpful.Analgesics are also prescribed for pain relief. If no improvement then arthroscopic correction might be needed.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
I find this answer helpful
