What Is The Cause Of Iron Deficiency During Pregnancy?

I am 30just weeks pregnant and had a iron infusion a week and a half ago because my iron levels were under 5the and hemoglobin was 114 now it is 104again and my iron is still too low I also am suspected of having a kidney infection my dr gas really explained where we go from here or what the could happen.....

Causes of iron deficiency in pregnancy are as follows
1.Inadequate diet intake
2. Iron loss due heavy menstrual bleeding
3.Previous pregnancy
4.Poor absorption- only 10% is absorbed normally.
5.Continuous loss of blood in conditions like hookworm infection or malaria.I will suggest you to consult with your obstetrician. Thank you.
