What Is The Cause Of Excessive Sleep And Lack Of Energy?

I work in a night shift. And I tend to feel sleepy all the time. At work i keep dozing and my head keeps dropping. When I talk to someone I feel active. When I go home in the morning, I feel sleepy again, and I get going with other chores to keep me up. I sleep at 12 PM in the noon and wake up at 5 PM since my office begins at 6 PM in the evening. I usually follow the trend of having dinner at 10 PM in the evening and breakfast at 08 AM in the morning. I am not sure if my eating habits are affecting my health, or If I am in the heart disease lane or if I need to change my habits. Over the weekend I follow the regular schedule what normal people do, but its just during the week I follow the above mentioned pattern. Please advise If I should change something. I am 22 Years old, 5 ft 12 in and 89 KG in weight.

Its very common to experience sleep disturbances or feeling sleepy during working hours for people who works in night shifts. You sleep 5 hours ( 12PM to 5 PM) a day, that may not be adequate for you. I will suggest you to make sure you get at least 6 hours of sleep a day. Also You do consider check on regularising your sleep-wake cycle that is regular time of waking up and falling asleep continuously. In weekends You may not be having your night shifts but i will suggest you to follow your whole week schedule for sleep.
