General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to constipation.

Mucinex (guaifenesin) is an expectorant, it will not relieve constipation.

I recommend using an over the counter option such as Miralax.

I also recommend to use a stool softener and drink a lot of liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
