What Is The Cause Of Cloudy Lungs?

My husband had an accident a work about 7 years ago. He cracked one of his ribs in the accident. He has had a great deal of problems on left side since his accident. Two days ago, he went to the doctor and he had an exray on his chest. The results of the exray indicated that his left lung was cloudy. He also went to get a CT scan to same day, but has not gotten the results back. What are some diagnosis rather than CANCER?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Cloudy lungs on chest x ray, other than cancer, are seen in infections like pneumonia, fungal infection, tuberculosis, Pulmonary embolism, Pulmonary infarction, Pulmonary contusions etc.
Since he is having history of blunt chest trauma and rib fracture, possibility of Pulmonary contusions is more.
So wait for CT report.
Possibility of Pulmonary contusions is high in your husband's case.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your husband. Thanks.
