I have an incredible itch along the part of my jawline that begins just below the ear-lobe. This happens often but today it is terrible, and I feel there is a lump (perhaps a gland) just below my left ear-lobe but on the jaw -cheekbone area? any advice?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have lump on jawline below ear lobe which seems to be due to infection and swelling of lymph nodes. It could be due to dental infection of molar teeth area of left side as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply heat compresses for 10-15 mins 2-3 times a day and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and swelling. If condition persist for more than a week the consult oral surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order X-ray of affected area to rule out condition like jaw fracture . Doctor may perform minor surgery to correct the condition. You should do warm saline gargles on daily basis and you can go for fine needle aspiration cytology as well to detect cause of lesion.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
