What Is The Cause Of A Boil On The Stomach?

I am a 58 year old male, I developed what I thought was a boil on my rear end, but it went away quickly and now one has developed on my lower stomach and one underneath one armpit. Recently I had a minor surgery and spent one night in the hospital and am a little concerned I may have picked up some sort of bacterial infection.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a boil. I suggest to clean the area with hydrogen peroxide. I also suggest using an antibiotic cream for local application such as Neosporin cream.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
