What Is The Cause For Rough Patches In The Gum And Jaw Pain?

There are a few sore, raw areas inside my cheeks near my gums, they feel like little rough patches when I feel them with my tongue. My teeth are also sore- not one certain tooth, and not sensitivity or sharp pain, just a deep ache that seems to be coming from the jaws. My wisdom teeth may be starting to come in (I'm 18 years old) but I also read that teeth soreness can be a menstrual symptom (the tooth pain and raw skin began just before my period and persists now while my period is just ending). I am wondering if I have some kind of gum disease?

A topical analgesic (e.g. benzydamine mouthwash) may reduce pain.
