I had a colposcopy on sept. 24 it is now October 11th. I was expecting my period on the 8th and it has not come. I am on Birth control and am very regular so I am suprised to be late. I have been having sex but have been on regular birth control for the last 7 years. What could this be?
I think that delay in your periods can be due to hormonal irregularities so I will suggest you to have a thyroid profile test and prolactin test. Also, stress before a surgical procedure like colposcopy can also lead to delayed periods. Finally, I would suggest you to do a urine pregnancy test after two weeks which if comes negative then stop pills and start Medroxyprogesterone tablet for 5 days and wait till your periods resume.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
