Good Day!

How old is your brother? for younger patients differentials would be infection and stones for any blood in the urine. For the older population we would think of prostate, bladder malignancies, infection, maybe because of the catheter trauma, and then stones. Your brother needs to see his urologist so he can be worked up to determine the site of bleeding. He may need to have a CT SCAN to check the whole urinary system.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-manuel-c-see-iv/66014 I would gladly help you. Best wishes.
