What Is The Cause And Treatment For Tinnitus?
I started with ringing in my ears on Monday. I was listening to a tv show with headphones on from morning until lunch. Then when I took them off I noticed my ear ringing loudly. I thought nothing of it because sometimes it happens but it didn t go away. So I went to an urgent care and they told me I had tinnitus. But nothing was given to me, steroids or anything. I m seeing an ENT on Monday. Is it too late to get steroids for my condition? What do I have? I m very worried and lots of anxiety over this

As per your query you are wondering about treatment for tinnitus which can be caused by many factors like stress , temporomandibular joint problem , wisdom tooth , cervical spondolysis and increase blood pressure. Main cause of tinnitus is fluctuation in the blood pressure. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like audiometry , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax buildup , middle ear infection. Doctor may remove wax , prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory and supplement like ginkgo biloba . For now do mind relaxing exercises like meditation . Yoga and meditation can be very helpful. Doctor may also refer you to dentist for wisdom tooth problem .
