What Is The Cause And Treatment For Red Bruise On Right Side Which Came After Coughing?
hello Dr. Grief, my husband was coughing over the weekend and something popped on his right side causing him sever pain. It has since eased but there is a large area of red brusing over the area . Can you Possibly tell me if this is something of concern or an injury that will heal over time?

The symptoms can be related to a rib fracture to cough. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. The bruise will relieve gradually in time.
