What Is The Cause And Treatment For Blurred Vision?

I went to the doctor because of blurred vision and felt like I needed prescription changed. They said I had cataracts but also vitreous degeneration. They said surgery would not help the blurred vision. Should I go ahead and have surgery for the cataracts? I was shocked because I thought the blurred vision was the cause of cataracts. Shirley
