Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Due to trauma, there might be injury over bone. It will be better to do an X-ray to rule out any bony injury and lungs injury. If no bony injury there will be injury over the intercoastal muscles which will take time to recover. You will have pain on respiration, more pain at night and morning, For the ICS injury, some suggestions are:
- You need to take rest
- Avoid strenuous works
- Avoid sleeping on painful area and
- Take regular medication (Use the analgesic containing NSAIDS, Codeine or caffeine)

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
