General & Family Physician Dr. Gautam Das's  Response
Hi. Neck pain can be caused because of several reasons like such as degenerative disc disease, neck strain, whiplash, a herniated disc, or a pinched nerve. To confirm the cause and initiate appropiate treatment i would recommend you to undergo a MRI scan of the neck and consult an orthopedics specialist. Any excercise or massage of the neck should be done only if recommended by an expert.
