What is the alternative to Naltrexone that will allow a full night s sleep?
I feel like I am having severe pain attacks at night that can last thru the night up to 5: 00 am. My doctor put me on Naltrexone it is not working. The. pain still breaks through. Can a you suggest a different medication that would allow me to sleep?.
Although there has been some research to show that naltrexone in very low doses can ease pain in fibromyalgia patients, the evidence base is small and it is not yet an accepted mode of treatment. There are other medicines like duloxetine, pregabalin, milnacipran etc which are well researched and known to have good results in pain relief. Pregabalin would be especially suitable for you as it also has some sedative action in addition to pain relief.
